April 02, 1974: Dortmund's Westfalenstadion is inaugurated just in time for the World Cup in Germany - with space for 54,000 spectators and framed by four extravagant floodlight masts in the shape of tennis rackets in earthy red. The jewel box quickly develops into the Mecca of German soccer. With the renovation and second expansion of the stadium in 1998, the masts have to go - but the memory of them lives on.
